Penny

There are two types of money, coins and bills. Coins include quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. 

This is both sides of a penny: 

Here are some facts about a penny.

• It is made of copper and zinc. 
• The penny is worth one cent (1¢).
• Abraham Lincoln is on the HEADS of the coin (front side). 
• The Lincoln Memorial is on the TAILS side of the coin (back side).

 

When we count pennies we count by ones! This is 3 cents (3¢) AND 3 pennies. 

HOW MUCH MONEY IS THIS?

This is 8 cents (8¢)!!

And how many pennies?
